Frank Durante

Frank A. Durante of East Boston passed away on September 26. He was 89 years old.
The cherished son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Doria) Durante, he was the loving brother of Marie Gulla of Florida and her late husband, Frank Gulla, Joseph Durante and his wife, Janice of Saugus and the late Clara Cino and Salvatore Durante and his wife, Evelyn. Frank is also survived by his brother-in-law, William Cino and by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will honor Frank’s life by gathering in Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach St. Revere on Thursday, September 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 830 a.m. Friday before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church in East Boston for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated in his honor at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Elizabeth (Schipani) McCarthy of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away on September 18. She was 86 years old.
The beloved wife of the late Frederick McCarthy, she was the loving mother of Joseph McCarthy of Revere, dear sister of Marie Borowski and her husband, Bruce of Florida and Leonora Schipani of Revere and the late Theresa Grifoni, Anthony, Thomas Jr, Robert and Donald Schipani; cherished grandmother of Frederick McCarthy of Florida, Joseph McCarthy Jr. of Revere and the late Shavonne McCarthy and adored great –grandmother of Frederick McCarthy Jr. of Florida. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

A member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Association (ILGWA) for over 55 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Girolamo Cucchiara; devoted mother of Peter J. Cucchiara Di Bella of East Boston; dear sister of Costanza Cordio of Revere. Paolina Caradonna, Francesco Di Bella, and Pietro Di Bella, all of Italy, and the late Paolo Di Bella. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Gerardo “Jerry” Luongo of East Boston passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 22.
The beloved husband of over 66 years to Anna (D’Apice) Luongo, he was the devoted father of Gail Marrotta and her husband, Richard of Reading, Donna Rich and her husband, Steven, Denise Baglio and her husband, Jack, all of East Boston; dear brother of the late Pat Luongo, Lillian Scarpa, Kate Abbattesa, Connie Ricci, Viera Pagliuca, Frances Terizzi and Jean Malvone; cherished brother in law of Tina Luongo; cherished grandfather of Brian, Lauren, Jordan and Stephen Rich and adored great grandfather of Sadie James Rich. Paul N. Cipoletta of East Boston, formerly of the North End of Boston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18.
