Practice began on Friday, August 20 at Sartori Stadium and continued all last week as the East Boston High School football team gets ready for the new season. John Parziale begins his twelfth season with a record of 63-50. Last spring, in a Fall 2 shortened season due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the Jets ended at 6-1 and won the Boston North Title and city league championship. The annual EB-SB football game took place on April 23 at Sartori Stadium. The Jets won 36-0. The annual game, 102 in the series dating to 1903 is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, November 25 at 9:30 a.m. at White Stadium.
Game one is this Friday evening at Sartori Stadium with Boston Latin School. With a good group of returning players and a capable coaching staff that includes veterans of the team like Tyrone Figueroa ’08, expectations are high for another successful season and hopefully no injuries to key players.
Its year seven for an MIAA approved play-off system. Schedules are set for September and October. Games in November will be determined by a point system in which Eastern Massachusetts and Central Massachusetts schools will be split into two groups: play-off teams and non-qualifiers.
