East Boston residents are invited to enjoy an afternoon and early evening on our beautiful and historic waterfront at the 11th Annual Chelsea River Revel; Saturday June 21st at the Condor Street Urban Wild.
The Chelsea River, better known as the Chelsea Creek, may not always bring up images of nature and beauty to mind. We often see the industry and grit of this important body of water. But the Chelsea River does have beauty and as a natural resource it has the ability to bring restorative and healthful impacts to the people who live near it.
The Chelsea River Revel celebrates our maritime heritage by bringing East Bostonians out onto the water and showing them another side of the picture. The Chelsea River Revel is an event put on by the Chelsea Creak Action Group, a long active collaboration between East Boston and Chelsea volunteers working with NOAH’s East Boston environmental interest group EBCCAG and the Chelsea Collaborative’s Green Space. The goal of the event is over the past two decades has been to introduce residents to the River and the positive changes in the health and uses it can provide.
Please join us on Saturday the 21st from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm for our 11th Annual River Revel. Take a guided boat tour of the Creek, learn about the Revolutionary War history of the battles of Noddle Island and Chelsea Creek, and build a new understanding of the Creek and the recreational opportunities the region’s families can enjoy along it’s shores.
Free guided educational Chelsea River Boat Tours leave East Boston’s Boston Bay Marina at 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm and Chelsea’s Admirals Hill Marina at 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm.
