Despite losing the game 6-1 to archrival Latin Academy during the Boston City League Championship, the East Boston High School Jets hockey team is a happy bunch on the ice at Matthews Arena at Northeastern University on Thursday, Feb. 23. MVP of the City League Hockey Championship game for East Boston was freshman Sean O’Halloran.
The Boston Massacre Men’s Hockey Club is hosting a charity game on Saturday, April 7 at 6 p.m. in memory of Nunziato Orlando who died on Tuesday, February 7 after a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy. He was 33.
The event will be the 1st Annual Skate for Nunz Charity Game and will raise money to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The benefit will begin at 6 p.m. at the Porrazzo Rink in East Boston. Tickets are $10 per person and children under 12 are free.
Nunziato was born in Malden on December 28, 1978. He was an alumnus of St Domenic Savio High School 1996 and Newbury College 1998.
