John L. Cacicio

Grew up in East Boston

John L. Cacicio, 79, passed away July 29, 2026, in Fort Myers, Fla., with his beloved wife by his side. Though born in Winthrop, John grew up in East Boston, grounded in family values and Sunday pasta dinners. Following graduation from Newman Prep and Boston English, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. His service took him from the shores of NAVFAC Ramey to the sea as a Radioman aboard the ocean minesweeper USS Vital, and a deployment with the Second Marine Division. He later graduated from Newbury Junior College (1976) and studied at UMass.

John was old-school, deeply valuing personal, face-to-face connections and bringing people together with his music and wit. He is predeceased by his parents, Carmella (Millie) and Leo, and his brother, Robert. John’s legacy of love lives on through his devoted wife of 40 years, Rosemarie; his sister, Janice Servideo; his children, Lisa (Mark) Belliveau, Joseph (Florinda) Cacicio, and Jennifer Taylor; and six grandchildren.

Private cremation and services have been held. In Johnny’s (Vito’s) memory, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the ASPCA. To view the full obituary and share memories, please visit Legacy.com.”
