Family was what mattered most to her
Family and friends attended Visiting Hours on Tuesday, April 8 in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St. Revere for Louise J. Petrozzelli, a resident of East Boston, who died on Monday, March 31st in Framingham, following a long illness. She was 77 years old. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks St., East Boston following visiting hours. Interment was private.
Louise was born in Boston on March 19, 1948, to her parents, Antonio and Ida (Spagnuolo) Petrozzelli. She was one of three children who were raised and educated in East Boston. She was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1966.
Following high school, Louise began working for Jordan Marsh Co. in downtown Boston. She became a buyer in the homeware department. She later left and began working at Lechmere, in the same capacity. She then took a better position staying within retail and became the Chief Merchant for online catalog for The Harvard Coop. Louise loved working there and had a career that spanned over 20 years. One of the greatest joys of her career was traveling all over the world.
She was also a very caring and devoted daughter to her parents, whom she cared for and looked after as they were aging. Her family was what mattered to her the most. She never had children but was blessed with nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own children.
Louise was also a Godmother for many children of family and friends. She was a lifetime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and the former St. John the Baptist Church.
The devoted daughter of the late Antonio and Ida Petrozzelli, she was the loving sister of Pasquale C. “Pat” Petrozzelli and his wife, Rita of Revere and Angelo Petrozzelli and his wife, Kathleen of Haverhill; cherished aunt of Patricia Petrozzelli and Alan Lord of Salem, N.H., Anthony Petrozzelli and his wife, Judith of Revere, John Petrozzelli of Framingham, Annmarie Spear and her husband, Matthew of Gaylord, Michigan and Kathleen Gallagher and her husband, Joseph of Lynnfield; the treasured grand aunt of 10 grandnieces and grandnephews.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
