Helen (Cuneo) Grady

She will be remembered for her warm heart, joyful spirit and unwavering devotion to the people she loved

Helen L. Cuneo) Grady of East Boston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 1, 2026. She was 77 years old.

Born on February 24, 1949, Helen was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Cuneo; the devoted wife of James “Jimmy” Grady, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Patricia Medeiros and her husband, Mark, and Cheryl Silvestro and her husband, Mark; the dear sister of Joanne Cuneo Tuxbury and Alfred “Mickey” Cuneo and his wife, Linda. Above all else, Helen treasured her family. She was the adored grandmother of Dylan and Morgan, who were truly the lights of her life. Helen played an important role in helping to raise her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. She was also the loving aunt of Kristen Tuxbury and Kelly Brogna and is survived by many other beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Helen will be remembered for her warm heart, joyful spirit, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. She was happy, fun-loving, and always there for anyone who needed her. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed traveling to Aruba, where she could relax in the sunshine she loved so much. A devout Catholic, Helen’s faith was an important part of her life and a source of strength and comfort throughout the years.

Family and friends will honor Helen’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, East Boston on Friday, October 9 from 3 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday morning at 8:30 a. m. before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, Brooks Street, East Boston, for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in celebration of her life. Services will conclude with Helen being laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
