Thomas Philbin, Jr.

Of East Boston

Thomas J. Philbin, Jr. died unexpectedly in East Boston on September 1. 

The beloved son of the late Elsie (Duca) and Thomas J. Philbin Sr., he was the brother of Joseph Philbin of Virginia, Steven Philbin of Winchester and Christine Philbin Rossi and her husband, Thomas of Hawaii and the late Robert S. Philbin,  Stanley T. Philbin and his surviving wife, Nancy Philbin. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting will be on Tuesday, September 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Magrath Funeral Home, 336 Chelsea St. [at Day Sq] ,East Boston.  Relatives and friends invited. Private interment at the convenience of the family will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden

Ann Marie Nastasia

Past Employee of Massport Known for Her Quick Wit and Love of Barry Manilow

Ann Marie (Baldassaro) Nastasia of Winthrop passed away on September 18.

Ann was a past employee of Massport. She was known for her quick wit and love of Barry Manilow. She loved going shopping with her friends but more than anything, she loved her grandchildren. She will be missed by many.

The loving daughter of the late Henry “Gary” and Jean (Saladino) Baldassaro, she was the beloved mother of Marty and his wife, Amanda Nastasia and Gara Nastasia; dear sister of Joan Merino, Lona Ruggiero and her husband, George and the late Theresa Mastrangelo and her surviving spouse, Tom; cherished grandmother of Dylan Emmanuelle,  Gabriella Nastasia, Julianna Nastasia and Lyla Nastasia and adored aunt of five nieces and nephews: Renee Lamothe, Anissa Catinazzo, Jeff Mastrangelo, Eric Mastrangelo and Rena Ruggiero. 

Family and friends will honor Ann’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, East Boston on Thursday, September 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Joseph – Saint Lazarus Church for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass.

Mary Goddard

Former East Boston Resident

Mary A. (Raffo) Goddard of Malden, formerly of East Boston and Chelsea, passed away on September 16.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph Goddard who passed away on July 6, 2022, she was the devoted and loving mother of Joseph Goddard and his partner, Nicole O’Leary and Tracey Goddard; adored grandmother of Brittany Grimmer, Joshua Horgan and Ashelley O’Leary and is also survived by her loving cousins. 

Family and friends will honor Mary’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home North Shore Chapel, 10 Chestnut Street, Peabody, today, Wednesday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a 12 Noon prayer service in our serenity chapel. Services will conclude with Mary being laid to rest with her beloved husband, Joseph in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in Peabody. May they rest in peace.

Anthony Albano

June 4, 1943 – September 13, 2022

Anthony L. Albano of Revere passed away on Sep 13, 2022 at the age of 79.

After proudly serving in Vietnam, Tony returned home to Revere where he worked in the Insurance business. He provided insurance for the Big Dig project in Boston and also worked for Prescott Insurance. Tony loved to travel, enjoyed going down to the beach and always liked watching football on Sundays with Santos. Most of all, he loved being a grandfather.

“Tony” was born June 4, 1943 to the late Joseph and Antonetta (Mazzerella). He was the cherished father of Christine Albano-Martorelli of Revere and the late Anthony F. Albano, loving grandfather of Michael Martorelli and his fiancé, Jacqueline Noel, Matthew Martorelli and Dalayna Albano; dear brother of Carmen Albano and father-in-law of Mark Martorelli and Dyanna Albano. He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A Visitation was held at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St, Revere on Tuesday, September 20 followed by a Prayer Service. Interment was at Puritan Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: Tunnel To Towers Foundation in Anthony’s name.
