James Polito

He Will Be Remembered for His Courage, Protective Attitude and Charming Ways

James ‘Jim’ Polito of East Boston, passed away unexpectedly on February 10 at the age of 70.

Born on February 24, 1951, James was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Fawcett) Polito and was raised and lived most of his life in East Boston. After graduating from East Boston High School in 1969, Jim enlisted in the USMC and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. He served as a machine gunner and received the National Defense Service Medal.

Jim loved taking early morning walks and meeting his friends at Dunkin Donuts “down the square.”

He will be remembered for his courage, protective attitude and charming ways.

James is survived by his son, Derek and his wife, Maria, his daughter Jamie and her husband, Martino. He was the brother of Joseph, Cheryl and John and predeceased by his sister, Linda; he was the grandfather to five grandchildren and is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in his name to the Disabled American Veterans State House, Room 546, Boston, MA 02133.

Per James’s request, all services will be private.
