His family remains his proudest legacy

Gino Ferri of Saugus, formerly of East Boston and Winthrop, died on Friday evening at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was 93 years old.

The loving husband of Grace (Spadoni) Ferri with whom he shared 63 years of marriage, he was born in Pesaro, Italy, the son of the late Eugenio and Maria (Bettitelli) Ferri. A resident of the United States for 63 years, Mr. Ferri lived in East Boston and Winthrop before moving to Saugus in 2002. He worked for over 30 years as a sausage maker/meat cutter for Liberty Market in East Boston. Devoted to family and “ambassador” to relatives in Italy, a nurturer, Gino cultivated his garden, his friendships and his family with devotion and care. His family remains his proudest legacy.

In addition to his wife, Grace, he is survived by three children; Pia Della Piana and her husband, Anthony of Saugus, Eugene Ferri and his wife, Geri Anne of North Reading and Mark Ferri and his wife, Rosemarie of Saugus; grandchildren: Grace, Christopher, Joseph, Catherine, Anna, Elizabeth and Olivia. He was the dear cousin of Linda LaGreca of Peabody. He was predeceased by seven siblings and is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Le Marche region of Italy.

His funeral will be held from the  Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Avenue, Saugus today, Wednesday, May 24 at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 758 Salem St., Lynnfield at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Alfred Luongo

Of East Boston

Alfred C. Luongo of East Boston away on Tuesday, May 23. He was 96 years old.

The cherished son of the late Marino and Amalia Luongo, he was the loving brother of Grace Zuccaro of East Boston, Frank Luongo of Florida, Helen Pellecchia of East Boston and the late Antonetta Marcella, Carmela Luongo and George Luongo. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Family and friends will honor Alfred’s life by gathering in Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach St. Revere on Tuesday,

May 30 from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service in our Chapel of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Roslindale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
