Iapicca Assunta Capodanno

Of Medford, formerly of East Boston

Iapicca Assunta Capodanno of Medford, formerly of East Boston, passed away on August 3.

The loving daughter of the late Michael and Carmalinda (Vitale) Capodanno, she was the cherished sister of Maria Sodano and her late husband, Luigi of Winthrop, Licia Biasella and her husband, Nicholas of Cambridge and the late Antonia DeSantis; adored aunt of Carmine Sodano of Winthrop, Marisa, Nicholas and Roberto Biasella, all of Cambridge and is also survived by dear cousins and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home (Orient Heights) East Boston. She was laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery. Paul Piantedosi

Member of DAV and Commanders Club

Paul C. Piantedosi of East Boston passed away on August 8 with his loving family by his bedside.

He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the DAV and the Commanders Club.

He was the beloved husband of over 58 years to Frances “Fran” (Guerra) Piantedosi; devoted father of Paula Palmisano and her husband, David, Debra LaMalfa and husband, Kenneth and Lisa Bradford and husband, Joe, all of New Hampshire; dear brother of Mary Cavaleri of East Boston, Dorothy Heres and Rita Russo, both of Revere and the late Joseph Piantedosi; cherished grandfather of eight and great grandfather of four. He is also survived by many loving nieces,nephews and cousins.

Family and friends will honor Paul’s life by gathering today, Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St. (Orient Heights) East Boston and again at 8:30 on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to St. Joseph St. Lazarus Church, East Boston for a Funeral Mass in celebration of Paul’s life at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with Paul being laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery with full Military Honors.
