Mosca vs. Milanos for the Cup in EBMHL

Heading into last Tuesday nights semifinal action at Porazzo Rink, the league leading JC Detailing squad was confident and poised for a title run. The Mosca Squad coming off a huge upset in the quarterfinals over Preston Properties, had other ideas. The moment the puck dropped Mosca was ready to take it to JC as Ryan Moran walked in off the opening faceoff to give them a 1-0 lead. Not long after that, Mosca struck again on an Andrew MacCormack tally for the 2-0 lead. A flat and bewildered JC Detailing team was hapless. By the end of the 1st period, Mosca led 3-0. The second period started much like that 1st as Mosca’s, Frank Dimarzo popped another quick one for the 4-0 lead. JC wasn’t about to roll over and die as the flipped the switch and finally began to play, after a Joey Salvadore goal making it 4-1. Mosca would get goals from Shawn Velez and Mike Preston, while JC got some offense from Shawn Smith, Matt Armata, and Mike Marcinkowski. The press continued throughout the remainder of the game as JC was able to bring it close, down 6-4, but the flying high Mosca Squad was not to be defeated this night as they were able to shut down JC’s onslaught and take home the win 7-4. Dominic DiMarzo added the empty netter in the end. Dimarzo advances to his third straight EBMHL Championship Series.

In the first game of the night, we saw a lopsided affair as Milano’s dismantled the East Boston Yacht Club behind the fantastic play of Peter Hanlon, Nick Clewer, and Matt Fraser. Tony Deandrea was outstanding in the pipes for Milanos, who were able to shut down the offense of Charlie Daniels and Yano Amara. Dante Arinella had a pair of goals for EBYC in the 7-2 loss.
