Grace Flynn

Grace M. Flynn of Winthrop died May 16 at the Glen Ridge Nursing Center. She was 93 years old.
Born in Boston, the dear daughter of the late Ethel B. (Rowland) and Thomas F. Flynn, she was a graduate of East Boston High School and Boston Clerical School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the Trinity Neighborhood House.
She was a member of the Winthrop Catholic Women’s Club and a longtime devoted member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
The beloved sister of the late Thomas F. Flynn, Rowland P. Flynn, Mary M. Meadows, Ethel F. Hodgkins and William E. Flynn, she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Muriel M. “Peggy” (D’Entremont) Hembrough of Salem, NH, died May 17 at the Methuen Health & Rehab Center. She was 83 years old.
She was born, grew up and attended schools in East Boston and worked for New England Telephone in Boston for many years.
The daughter of the late Joseph H. and Caroline E. (Babin) D’Entremont, she was the wife of the late Frederick Hembrough and sister of the late Peter D’Entremont. She is survived by her sisters: Anne D’Entremont of Braintree and Eileen Flanagan of Naples, FL; her brothers: Harold D’Entremont of Weymouth and Herman D’Entremont of Somerville and several nieces and nephews.

Joseph A. “Pee Wee” Saponaro of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, died on May 17.
An intercollegiate Billiards Champion and a U.S. Army veteran, he was the loving father of Joseph A. Saponaro III, of New York; cherished son of the late Joseph A. Sr. and Evelyn C. (Cabral) Saponaro; dear brother of Ronald Saponaro and his wife, Donna of Plymouth, Marie Spagnolo and her husband, Charles of Saugus, Geraldine LaCorte of Medford and brother-in-law of John LaCorte of East Boston. He was the former husband of Joan (Kunigenas) Saponaro of Amesbury.

Rosamond Ruth Gregory

Rosamond Ruth (Tower) Gregory of Revere, formerly of Chelsea, died on May 17 following a long illness. She was in 88 years old.
A retiree of the Whitmor Company of Revere, she was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Chelsea and the Chelsea Winnissimett Club.
She was the cherished mother of John T. Gregory and his wife, Linda J. and beloved grandmother of Liann J. Gregory, all of Tewksbury and is also lovingly survived by her devoted caregiver, David Lawson of Revere, her sister-in-law Lorraine Tower of East Boston and by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph and James Tower, Doris Campbell and Grace Whitehead.

Eleanor F. (Scopa) Fabiano of East Boston, formerly of Revere, died on May 19.
She was the beloved wife of the late Philip Fabiano; devoted mother of Charles Smith and his wife, Ann of Hanson, Eleanor Szwarc and her husband, Adam of California and Alicia Hamdi and her husband, Liess of Cape Cod; dear sister of Paul Scopa of Danvers and Pasquale Scopa of East Boston; cherished grandmother of Charles, Marc, Derek, Erica, Nicholas, Carly and Daniel and adored great grandmother of Samuel and Natalie. Helen Brennan of East Boston died on May 12th, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. An activist for the handicapped, she helped with the building of the shining star day care center and making the community a better place to live. She loved painting, playing the piano, singing, gardening and spending lots of time with her family. She was the beloved partner of 35 years to Stephen Feeney. Loving mother of Joni Dimarzo and her partner Michael Beamer, Gina Iannelli and her husband Buddy Iannelli and Daniel Brennan and his wife Corinne. Loving mother of the late Theresa Brennan.
