Lucky 7: League expands in Season 2

Another week in the books for the EBMHL, and once again Porrazzo Rink saw nothing short of fantastic hockey. Last season, the EBMHL carried 6 teams. Due to an overwhelming response from hockey players all over the Boston area Commissioner Ron Moore and Co-Commissioner Jeff Arinella were forced to bring in a 7th team for Season 2. Tuesday night September 21, the EBMHL welcomed that 7th Team, Yellow Taxi, to the ice.

In game 1, Yellow Taxi took on Sound Decison in what was an absolute barn burner that ended deadlocked at 5. Leading the way for Sound Decision was Dominic DiMarzo who buried the hat trick. Dave Couldren and Joe Duca Jr. had the single tallies for Sound Decision. DiMarzo finished the game with 4pts. Doing the scoring for Yellow Taxi were Paul Munzione and Michael Preston who notched 2 goals a piece. The other goal was scored by Jim Leger.

Game 2 ceratinly didnt start the way it finished with Bll Ashes defeating the Comets 10-5. These two teams grinded it out in what seemed to be a battle to the finish, but it was Bill ashes who pulled away late to seal the deal. Leading the onlslaught for Bill Ahes was Gerard Cioffi, who had 3 goals and 4 assists followed by David Chiaradonna who had 2 goals and 2 assists. Other goals for Bill Ashes came from Darrell Interbartolo who had a pair, and Red Lane. Brian Hayes led the attck for the Comets with 3 goals with single goaals coming from Rob Bulla and Vinny Schettino.

Game 3 saw Urban Sun Tanning take on the East Boston Yacht Club with Urban Sun coming out with the victory 7-4. Shawn Smith provided the offense for UST with 3 goals and 1 assist, while Ralph Guarino provided a paid and Jeff Delpidio and Mike Rodrigues provided the single tallies for UST. EBYC goals were scored by Charlie Daniels (2 goals) and Dante Arinella who also had a pair.

The 113 Club had a bye this week and got the week. For any and all who have been able to make it down to Porrazzo on a Tesday night, the EBMHL would like to thank you and would appreciate the continued support.
