State Representative Adrian Madaro Hosts Annual Madaro Family Community Fund Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving morning was not the usual quiet business as usual morning for volunteers at the Madaro Family Community Fund Thanksgiving Dinner. In fact, it was just the opposite, State Representative Adrian Madaro and his family and crew geared up to serve 800 individual Thanksgiving dinners, to all that needed a hot meal on this day of giving thanks. Boxes filled with cheese and crackers, pie, and of course hot turkey, vegetables and lots of gravy were readied for delivery, pick-up or eat in.

State Representative Adrian Madaro passed out 200 turkeys earlier in the week to those families wishing to cook their own dinner in the comfort of their home, the 800 went to families that showed up at the East Boston Salesian Boys and Girls Club between 11-1 pm on Thanksgiving Day. All the hot food was prepared at East Boston’s

Spinelli’s Catering Service in Day Square. Volunteers served a drive-up area, a walk in service desk, and had a dining room set up for families that wanted to sit down and enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving dinner.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu made a special visit to the Salesian Boys and Girls Club to offer her assistance in serving some of the special dinner guests, and thanks Representative Madaro and his family of volunteers for their outstanding work.
