Harbor View Neighborhood Association Meeting agenda
The next meeting of the Harbor View Neighborhood Association will be on October 7, 2024, at 6pm. The meeting is In Person only but will be streamed via Facebook for archival purposes. Attendance on Facebook does not qualify for voting. The meeting will be held in the Salesian Boys and Girls Club cafeteria, across from the Brooke Charter School on Byron Street. You can access the meeting from the front door on Byron Street or from the rear door on Wordsworth Street, which is the handicap entry, to avoid the stairs. We also have an elevator available from the front door. Since we are indoors, masks are optional for those in attendance.

Llega a la cafeteria del Salesian Boys y Girls Club por la calle Byron al otro lado de Brooke Charter School. Pueda usar la entrada pricipal por la calle Byron o la entrada en calle de Wordsworth. La entrada de calle Wordsworth no tienne escaleras por personas con discapacidades. El cubre bocas sera opcional puesto que estaremos adentro.

Shred Day at Rockland Trust Bank on November 2, 2024, 9am-12. The ZBA approved the 609-611 Bennington Street project (Brooke School) that HVNA voted on and approved.

Italian Heritage Block Party (5min) Barbara Puopolo and Steve Scire (Carlo’s) with Salesians planning this event at Salesians Boys and Girls Club on Columbus Day Weekend, Sunday, October 13, 2024, 1pm-5pm. Fun and games for the children, entertainment from Jessica Gordon Academy of Arts, DJ playing Italian music for dancing. Food and drinks.
Halloween House Decorating Contest (5min) The annual contest to help neighbors get in the spirit of the season. 1st Prize $100, 2nd Prize $50, and 3rd Prize $25.
Westbrook Traffic Improvements (5min) Luke Fanuele, a neighbor on Saratoga Street, has proposed some safety improvements for Westbrook Street. Review of some of his thoughts and ideas.
64 Homer Street (10min) An update on the status of this parcel and the RFP process. Many rumors have surfaced about this parcel and HVNA wants to provide accurate and current information.
638 Bennington Street (15min) The discussion will focus on the status of the proposed bar/restaurant in the neighborhood. Eva Jones, ONS, has held two abutter meetings on this project. What is next in the process. Update on the petitions and abutter letters.
