Local Student Earns Academic Honors

Marchi Earns a Spot on the Dean’s List at Coastal Carolina University

 More than 3,000 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2023 semester, including William Marchi, from East Boston. Students who make the Dean’s List have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (3.25 for freshmen) for the semester.

Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, located just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Holy Cross Announces Fall 2023 Dean’s List

 More than 1,600 students were named to the College of the Holy Cross’ Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement during the Fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year. The following local students made the list:

Sara Lopez Alvarez of East Boston , Class of 2027

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must pass four or more letter-graded courses with no failing grades during the semester and earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

East Boston Resident Named to Clark University’s Dean’s List

Denise M. Smith, of East Boston, was named to first honors on the Clark University Dean’s List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2023 semester.

Students must have a GPA of 3.8 or above for first honors or a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79 for second honors.

Dean’s List Honors Announced at Tufts University

Tufts University recently announced the dean’s list for the Fall 2023 semester. Dean’s list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

Local Emerson College Students Earn Dean’s List

 The following students are named to Emerson College’s Dean’s List for the Fall 2023 semester. The requirement to make Dean’s List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester.

Hannah Nilsson of East Boston, is majoring in Theatre Edu and Performance and is a member of the Class of 2024.

Sara Alvarez Echavarria of East Boston is majoring in Journalism and is a member of the Class of 2024.

Samantha Boutureira of East Boston is majoring in Acting and is a member of the Class of 2024.

Sara Kelley of East Boston is majoring in Acting and is a member of the Class of 2025.

Junhao Huang of East Boston,is majoring in Media Arts Production and is a member of the Class of 2026.

Named to the Dean’s List at Bates College

Lucy Batres Rodriguez of East Boston, was named to the dean’s list at Bates College for the fall/winter semester ending in December 2023. This is a distinction earned by students whose grade point average is 3.92 or higher.

Batres Rodriguez is majoring in Sociology and Latin American and Latinx St. at Bates.
