Mark Christopher

Retiree of the City of Boston, Traffic Lighting Division and 50 Plus Year Member of the Orient Heights Yacht Club

Mark R. Christopher of Plymouth, formerly of East Boston, passed away on Saturday, January 15 at 70 years of age. 

Mark was an employee for the City of Boston – Traffic Lighting Division for 40 years. He was also a member of the Orient Heights Yacht Club in East Boston for over 50 years.

The beloved husband of Eileen M. (Goglia) Christopher, he was the loving son of Alice Christopher and her late husband, Gerald; devoted father of Mark Jr., Jason and his wife, Amanda and Justin and his loving companion, Naomi, all of Plymouth; dear brother of Allyn Christopher and David Christopher and his wife, Marilyn; cherished grandfather of Julian, Charlotte and Violet and treasured step-grandfather of Noah and Julia. 

Family and friends will honor Christopher’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., on Saturday, April 23 for a memorial visitation from 12 noon to 2 p.m.

Joseph John Guarnaccia

Dedicated Member of the East Boston Community and a True Community Activist

Joseph John Guarnaccia, a life-long resident of East Boston, passed away at home on Saturday, April 16 at the age of 85. 

Joe was the long-time North East Regional Sales Manager at Fisher Scientific. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean and a graduate of St. Michael’s College (VT). Joe was a dedicated member of the East Boston community and a true community activist. He was a Past President of East Boston Little League (North), Past President of the East Boston Athletic Board. He loved coaching East Boston Pop Warner and East Boston Little League. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Men’s Club. He will be missed by all. 

The beloved husband of the late Paula (Ricci), he was the devoted father of Rocco Guarnaccia and his wife, Christine of Wilmington, Pia Penney and her husband, Steven of East Boston and Joseph Guarnaccia and his wife, Melissa of Windham, NH; cherished grandfather of Joseph Robert, Zachary Matthew, Joseph Charles, Sarah Faith and Christopher Ricci. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor Joe’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., East Boston, today, Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. before leaving in funeral procession to Sacred Heart Church, Brooks St., East Boston for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in celebration of Joe’s life. Services will conclude with Joe being laid to rest with his beloved wife, Paula at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
