The Boston Centers for Youth And Families Spelling Bee

Last week, schools from across the city of Boston sent grades 3-8 representatives to the city-wide spelling bee.
The Guild Elementary School in Orient Heights, sent 5th grader, Maria Camilla Rojas Quiceno (number 7). Maria Camilla won the Guild Spelling Bee to qualify, beating all of her classmates and 10 schoolmates from across the grades. Maria Camilla competed for a chance to be the Boston representative in the famous Washington DC Scripp’s National Spelling Bee. She advanced to the third round of the Bee before being eliminated, making her family, her school, and her East Boston community proud.
