Ruth Sarro

Of Billerica

Ruth M. Sarro “Bunny” of Billerica passed away on October 30. 

The loving mother of Christopher Sarro and his wife, Suzanne of Billerica, she was the dear sister of Frank J. Sarro Jr., Robert C. Sarro, Mark Sarro, Lorraine Cooney and Charlotte Sarro and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

Family and friends will honor Ruth’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Thursday, November 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning at 10 a.m. followed by a prayer service in our chapel at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with Ruth being laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery. 

In accordance with the City of Boston Five-Point Plan for the Delta Variant of COVID-19, face masks are required at all times when indoors.

Robert DeFreitas

Enthusiastic Fan of all Boston Sports Teams

Robert J. DeFreitas of East Boston died suddenly on October 23. 

Bobby was an enthusiastic fan of all Boston Sports teams with a special love of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.

The beloved father of Tayla DeFreitas of East Boston and Hannah DeFreitas of Malden, he was the son of the late Patricia M. (Masello) Curtis and Joseph F. DeFreitas, brother of Donna Carmen and her husband, Jesse and Susan Henry, all of East Boston, Cheryl Nolette and her husband, Thomas of New Hampshire, Denise Matarazzo and her husband, Emilio, Jody and Frances DeFreitas, all of Revere and the late Sheryl Barry-DeFreitas; uncle of Alicia, Katelyn, Steven, Jason, Thais, Angela, Erin and the late Michael.

Shawn Patrick Wilkes

Of Needham, formerly of East Boston

Shawn Patrick Wilkes of Needham, formerly of East Boston, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 29 at 33 years of age. 

The beloved son of Jacqueline Wilkes and her companion, Tony Musto, he was the devoted father of Anthony, Delylah and Amelia Wilkes; dear brother of Amanda Wilkes, Andrew Marin and Nichole Marino, cherished grandson of Frederick Wilkes and the late Dorothy Wilkes and treasured nephew of Mark Wilkes, Ricky Wilkes and the late Dennis Wilkes.  He is also survived by many loving cousins. 

Family and friends will honor Shawn’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston on Thursday, November 4 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Parish, East Boston, for a Funeral Mass celebrating Shawn’s life at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with Shawn being laid to rest at Saint Michael Cemetery, Boston.

William Henry Yeomans, Jr.

Member of East Boston Social Center and Saint Lazarus Bowling League

William Henry Yeomans, Jr. of East Boston, formerly of Somerville, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Friday, October 29 at 83 years of age. 

A veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean Conflict, William was a member of East Boston Social Center and the Saint Lazarus Bowling League. 

The devoted and loving husband of over 57 years to Irene L. (Capo) Yeomans, he was the dear brother of Edna DiMartino of New Hampshire, Barbara of Texas and the late Richard Yeomans and is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends honored William’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston, on Tuesday, November 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. and a prayer service was held in Serenity Chapel at 5:45 p.m. Committal services will be private.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.ruggieromh.com.
