The East Boston Branch Library: 150 Years of Community

March 22, 2021 marks the 150th anniversary  of the East Boston Branch, the first municipally funded branch library in the United States. Do you know where the first East Boston Branch was located? You may be surprised with the answer. Join us as we explore the history and importance of library service in East Boston while learning a bit about life in 19th and 20th century East Boston in this slide lecture presented on zoom by Branch Librarian, Margaret Kelly.

On March 27, at 1 p.m. Jedlie is back but this time it’s virtual!  Jedlie’s magic tricks never cease to amaze his audience while his zany antics have them howling with laughter. Join us as Jedlie presents his new magic show, “The Magic Between Us Is Respect and Kindness. This exciting program motivates kids to wake up every morning and choose to be respectful & kind to everyone they meet, every day, everywhere. The show also reminds families to read together every day!
