Proprietor of ‘Peter’s Black Hair’ on Broadway for over 25 years
Peter F. Stornaiulo of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died at home on December 4 following a long illness. He was 59 years old.
Born in Boston, he spent most of his life in East Boston and was a 1975 graduate of East Boston High School and the Boston School of Hair Fashion. His family left East Boston and came to live in Revere in 1970. Peter worked at local shops in the early part of his working career and opened his own shop, “Peter’s Back Hair” on Broadway, Revere in September of 1976. He remained there until 2008 when serious illness re-visited him.
Peter always maintained one of the most meticulously cared for hair salons in the North Shore Area. Every season demanded total window re-creations as well as of the entire interior. However, Peter’s passion was Christmas, not only for the decorations and the music, but for his infamous “Holiday Parties” that never ended…and long will many remember with joy and tears his welcoming and genuine spirit.
He was the son of the late Carmine J. and Gloria J. (Panto) Stornaiuolo; the cherished brother of: Jeannette L. Rysinger and her late husband, George F. of Brockton, Carmen J. Stornaiuolo, III and his wife, Jean and Joseph L Storniuolo, all of Revere. He was the beloved uncle to: John F. Rysinger of Malden, Laura M Rysinger of Brockton, Jeanna Stornaiuolo of Revere and Carmen J. “CJ” Stornaiuolo of Charlestown, Virginia. He is also lovingly survived by his faithful best friend, Cheryl Abric-Mel of Lynn, several aunts, uncles and by many devoted cousins.
