The Hilton Garden Inn Boston Logan Airport, 100 Boardman St., celebrated its first anniversary Monday.
In conjuction with the anniversary celebration, general manager Kevin Buchanan and director of sales Steve Haley presented a $1,000 donation of school supplies to the Salesian Boys and Girls Club of East Boston.
Buchanan said the first year went by quickly and it was very successful. The summer has been very busy.
“It’s been a wonderful year,” said Buchanan. “We have a great team here, a lot of the same team members have been here from the beginning.”
Buchanan said that 65 of the 80 employees at the hotel are East Boston residents. “The hotel is doing very well and I attribute all of it to the team. It’s been good for the community. With our donation of school supplies today, we’re happy to help out the Salesian Boys and Girls Club.”
The Hilton Garden Inn in East Boston was Buchanan’s second grand opening. Ten years ago he helped open the Hilton Garden Inn at TF Green Airport in Warwick, R.I.
