The New England Tire and Service Association (NETSA) has announced that two of their scholarship recipients are Mark and Joel Katz, sons of Bob and Roberta Katz.
Bob Katz has been the owner and operator of Nu-Tread Tire and Auto Service Center in East Boston for many years.
Joel Katz, also a past recipient of a NETSA Scholarship, is currently a senior in the School of Business Administration at Northeastern University. He was a former scholar-athlete at Marblehead High School.
Mark Katz is currently a graphic arts major at Salem State University. Mark has won numerous art awards and was recently commissioned to paint an electrical box located in downtown Salem.
Both Mark and Joel are Dean’s List students at their respective schools.
Emily Katz, Joel’s twin sister, graduated from Suffolk University in May. She majored in Public Relations.
This was the first time that NETSA has awarded scholarships to siblings in the same year.
NETSA was established in 1952 and currently has more than 500 members throughout the six New England states.
NETSA is an enthusiastic advocate of education and training for its members and also a strong proponent for higher education for its members’ high school graduates and college students. To that end, NETSA established years ago a scholarship program for its members’ children to help supplement the exorbitant costs of higher education. NETSA, in conjunction with donor members, proudly awards 18 $2,000 scholarships annually.
The NETSA member/tire dealer in your area is Nu-Tread Tire and Auto Service Center located in Orient Heights. Please consider doing business with them when you have time and/or automotive service needs.
