Edith (Nastari) Hunt of Lexington, formerly of East Boston, died peacefully on May 22.
She was the devoted mother of Nadine Solomon of Arlington; dear sister of Eleanora Olivolo and the late Rose DeFeo, Gus, Al, Anthony and Ralph Nastari; cherished grandmother of Joseph Solomon and his wife, Deborah, adored great grandmother of Jacob Solomon and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews Family and friends will honor Edith’s life by gathering today, Wednesday, May 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St. (Orient Heights)East Boston with a prayer service in our Serenity Chapel at 7:45 p.m. Cremation service private. Joyce DiGenio
Active 40 Year plus life member officer of Beachmont VFW Auxiliary
Joyce (Eldridge) DiGenio died on May 22 at the Chestnut Woods Rehabilitation Center in Saugus. She was 60 years old.
Joyce was a very active life member and officer for 40 plus years of the Beachmont VFW Auxiliary 6712. She volunteered much of her time to the Beachmont Post and our veterans.
The loving wife of 29 years of Joseph DiGenio of East Boston, she was born in Woburn and raised in East Boston, the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Cutcliffe) Eldridge. Joyce was the sixth child born of a loving family of 10 siblings. She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Judy Clark, Ronald, Janet and John Eldridge of East Boston, June Dennen of Wakefield and Edward Eldridge of Windham, NH. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and was predeceased by her siblings: Charles, Jacqueline and Eugene Eldridge, Jr.

Lena Cantone of Revere died on May 17.
The beloved daughter of the late Felix and Anna (Galli) Cantone, she was the dear sister of the late Carmella Stuppia, Nicholas, Louie, George, Vincent, Victor and Andrew Cantone and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Calogero Nano of East Boston, formerly of Sicily, died peacefully on May 20.
He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Rosaria (Paci), devoted father of Damiano and his fiancé, Rosa of Revere, Bobby and his wife, Christine of Saugus, Vinny and his wife, Sarina of Montreal and the late Lina; dear brother of Giuseppe Nano and the late Alessandro Nano; cherished grandfather of Rosaria, Charls, Charles, Charlie and Alexa and adored great grandfather of Favian, Dario and Damiano. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor Mr. Nano’s life by gathering on Friday, May 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St. (Orient Heights) East Boston and again at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, East Boston for a Funeral Mass in celebration of Mr. Nano’s life at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with Mr. Nano being laid to rest with his beloved daughter in the community mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery. May they both rest in peace.

Amalia M. “Mary’ (DeAngelis) of Beverly, formerly of East Boston, died unexpectedly on May 18.
She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Rotigliano; devoted mother of Anthony Rotigliano and his wife, Annette of Peabody; dear sister of the late Speranza and Carmen DeAngelis; cherished grandmother of Tanya Thorpe and her husband, Bill of Amesbury, Michael Rotigliano and his wife, Jennifer of Salem and adored great grandmother of Victoria, Olivia, Addison, Amalia and Michaela. Bessie Donnarumma
Retired stitcher and office worker
Bessie (Emma) Donnarumma of Revere passed away on Sunday, May 22 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital following a brief illness. She was 94 years old.
Born and raised in East Boston, she come to live in Revere over 70 years ago. “Bessie” worked as a stitcher in Boston’s Garment District and then spent several years with the former firm of O’Brien & Russell Insurance as a clerk, retiring at age 62. “Bessie enjoyed her family and home most of all.
She was the wife of the late Anthony Donnarumma and the devoted mother of Rose M MacPherson and her companion, David Tucker and John A. Donnaruma and his wife, Cheryl, all of Revere; the cherished grandmother of Donna M. MacPherson and her husband, Donny Higgins of Revere, John F. McPherson, Jr. of Michigan, William A. MacPherson, John A. Donnaruma, Jr. and his wife, Annapaula, all of Revere and Taryn Crotty and her husband, Jason of Scituate. She is also lovingly survived by great grandchildren: Timothy, Piper, Saxton, Emma, Ashley and Tristan and one great great grandson, Michael. She was also the sister of the late Mary Landolfi, Rose Alferi and Jenny Palumbo. Many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews also survive her.
