Police addressed Sunday morning’s homicide at an East Boston community meeting Monday night.
Police said they could give few details but District A-7 Community Officer Danny Simmons said there is no threat to the public and the murder was not a random act.
“What we can say is that there was a shooting incident that resulted in a death on Falcon Street early Sunday morning,” said Simmons. “It was a male that was shot and apparently stabbed but this was not a random act and there is no public safety threat at this time.”
Simmons went on to say that they have not released the name of the victim because next of kin had not yet been notified as of Monday night.
Simmons said while it could have been gang related or individuals that knew each other the case is in the hands of homicide detectives and it is an ongoing investigation.
At 1:36 a.m. on Sunday morning officers assigned to District A-7 responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 144 Falcon Street.
