We congratulate William Rawn Associates Architects for their nomination by the Boston Society of Architects for the Harleston Parker Medal Award for the East Boston Branch of the Boston Public Library.
It is one of the highest honors that the BSA bestows upon a member. The nomination is awarded to the architect who designs the most beautiful piece of architecture in the City of Boston in the past year.
There is no question that the East Boston library building – that was dedicated last November in a ceremony attended by the late Thomas M. Menino – is an outstanding example of architectural excellence.
William Rawn Associates is truly deserving of this recognition and deserves much credit for gracing our community with a building that coordinates very well with the overall character of East Boston.
We also thank State Rep. Carlo Basile who was instrumental in having this magnificent facility built for the enjoyment of all of our residents.
