This weekend, residents in East Boston will be celebrating Eastie Pride. This event that started 25 years ago to bring a neighborhood together was the idea of present City Councilor Sal LaMattina, who was the community liaison with the Ray Flynn administration in 1988. Today, this event has grown from humble beginnings attended by a few hundred residents to one that attracts thousands.
On Saturday at Piers Park from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m, we encourage our readers to join with our new residents and former residents at this yearly Eastie Reunion. We want to thank all the sponsors who have generously given the money to buy food and entertainment that make this event a safe and fun family activity.
