Arrest Made for Armed Robbery at Mobil Station

East Boston Police announced they have made an arrest in the armed robbery of the Mobil Gas Station that took place on Thursday, January 3. While the name of the suspect has not yet been released, Community Service Officer Danny Simons made the announcement at Monday’s Jeffries Point Neighborhood Association meeting.

The robbery occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 3 at the Mobil Gas Station located at 470 Meridian St. just before the Meridian Street Bridge.

The clerk stated that the suspect entered the store, pointed a shotgun at him and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the store on foot.

The disturbing video shows the suspect brandishing the firearm. The video also shows two teenagers enter the gas station moments later and are immediately frozen with fear as they unwittingly stumble into a armed robbery in progress. The video also shows that there is one to two other patrons already in the store at the time of the robbery.

No one was hurt during the incident.

  • This scumbag had no shame holding a gun on a woman, and you see fit not to print his name?? Is he illegal?

    • Probably is. Let's get this trash out of East Boston. I wish Eastie had the same "crowd" that it did 20 years ago. It's too bad all of the italians fled to Saugus and Peabody. Let's hope the young professionals keep moving in, buying up condos along the waterfront and out price the scum. I'm tired of the littering, illegals and crime. Bring back East Boston!

      • East Boston had more crime 20 years ago than it does now. And residency status has nothing to do with whether or not someone commits a robbery.
