Rolande ‘Rose’ Meloa

Rolande “Rose” Meola of East Boston died on December 31.

She wasthe beloved wife of Americo Meola and the loving mother of Susan Whitaker of Florida.

A private burial was held in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody with arrangements by the Rapino Memorial Home.

Thomas Fahey

Former City of Somerville employee

Thomas F. Faheyof Somerville died on December 28 after a long illness.  He was 74 years old.

The son of the late Thomas and Helen (Dineen) Fahey, he was an employee of the City of Somerville.

Shirley Rosatto

East Boston Resident

Shirley R. (Lawrence) Rosatto of East Boston,  formerly of Saugus, died on January 8.

She was the beloved wife of the late Frank; devoted mother of Dennis Rosatto and his late wife, Joan of Saugus and Ronna Massucco and her husband, Richard of Chelmsford; dear sister of Robert Lawrence and the late Audrey Laing; cherished grandmother of five and great grandmother of 11. She is  also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St. (Orient Heights) East Boston today, Wednesday, January 11 at 10 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Mrs. Rosato’s life in the chapel of Woodlawn Cemetery at 11 a.m Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Carol Hoffman

Of Chelsea, formerly of Revere and East Boston

Carol F. (Grace) Hoffman of Chelsea, formerly of Revere and East Boston, died on January 4 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home. She was 78 years old.

A US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict born in East Boston, she was the  daughter of the late Gerald and Mildred Grace, the beloved wife of the late George Hoffman; devoted mother of Deborah Penta and her husband, Paul of Revere, Robert of Barre, Ma and Doreen Hoffman of Hampton, NH; dear sister of the late Clair Foster, Evelyn Bell, Gerald Grace, Edith Reynolds and Beverly Morris; three loving grandchildren, one late grandchild and four great grandchildren.

Joseph DiDonato, Jr.

Of North Reading, formerly of East Boston

Joseph A. “Joe” DiDonato, Jr. of North Reading, formerly of East Boston, died on January 6.

He served his country proudly in the US Army during the Korean War and was the beloved husband of Mary (Bellone); father of Joan Salustro of Chicago, Nancy Sandonato and her husband, Robert of Saugus, and Anthony DiDonato and his wife, Jenifer of Reading; son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Maria DiDonato; grandfather of Auroa, Joya, Lewis, Nicole, Gabrielle, Jacquelyn, and Juliette.

Anthony Tedesco, Jr., of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died on January 4.

He was the beloved husband of the late Sandi (McDonald) Tedesco; loving father of Anthony Tedesco, III, and his fiance, Nicole Walsh of Everett, Fred Mandracchia of Weymouth, Salvatore Mandracchia of Louisiana and Samantha Edmonds of Georgia; cherished grandfather of Anthony IV, Haley and Ethan and dear brother of Charlotte Riviera of Revere, Helen Sinno and  Margaret Gardina, both of East Boston and the late Billy and Theodore Tedesco. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

Patrick J. Ryan, Jr. of East Boston died on January 6.

He was the beloved son of Lucy M. (Lettieri) and the late Patrick J. Ryan Sr.; brother of Ann Marie Stewart of Chicago, IL and James A. Ryan of Wakefield; father of Patrick J. of East Boston; uncle of Daniel and Michael Ryan, Christina Memmolo, Danielle, Caitlin and Kristen Chianca; cousin of Richard Lettieri, Joseph Chianca, JoAnn Memmolo, Roy Lettieri, Anthony Chianca and the late Ronald Lettieri and grand-uncle of MaKayla Diaz and Anthony Richard Patrick Chianca. Patricia M. Bradley of East Boston, formerly of Charlestown, died on January 3.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Daniel P. and Mary A. (Guilfoyle) Bradley; loving sister of Mary Tower and her husband, Louis and Frances Sullivan and her husband, Leo, all of Squantum, and the late Daniel P. Bradley, Jr. and his surviving wife, Carol, of Plum Island. She is also survived by several nieces, nephew, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Esmeralda (Lopez) Fellowes, formerly of East Boston and Boston’s North End, died on January1 following a long illness. She was 84 years old.

A member of the Eastern Star and the Telephone Pioneers of America, she was the cherished mother of Cynthia L. Fellowes of New York City, Patricia L. Mysior and her husband, George of Owings, MD, Janet D. Bisson and her husband, Gene of Dracut and Mark C. Fellowes and his wife, Rosemary Heffernan of Cambridge; devoted grandmother of Lauren Wetherbee and Amara Bisson, both of Dracut, Lindsay Mysior, Rachel Mysior and Lindsey-Nicole Sassen, all of Owings, MD; dear sister of Gloria T. Woodland of Revere and the late Lilia Leslie. She is also lovingly survived by her great grandson Bentley J. Wetherbee and her brother in law, John E. Leslie Jr. of Revere and by many nieces and nephews.

Antonietta (DiGirolamo) LaRosa of East Boston died on  January 9. She was in her 92nd year.

She was the beloved wife of the late Paolo LaRosa; loving mother of Angelo LaRosa and his wife, Carmela of Revere, Maria LaRosa and Antonino “Nino” LaRosa, both of East Boston, Franco “Frank” LaRosa and his wife, Linda of Lynn, and Giovanna Defeo and her husband, Giovanni of Revere,and the late Baldassare “Billy” LaRosa and his wife, Rosanna of Revere; cherished grandmother of 15 and great grandmother of 23. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
