Anthony  Pisano

Gardener and Accomplished Opera Singer

Anthony C., Pisano of Saugus, formerly of East Boston, died on July 10. He was 85 years old.

A well decorated World War II veteran, he was an avid gardener and an accomplished opera singer.

He was the loving husband of the late Antoinetta (Cogliano) Pisano; cherished son of Ronald Pisano and his fiancé Cynthia of Saugus; beloved brother of Eugene Pisano, Dominic Pisano, Stella Centrella, and the late Phillip Pisano, all of Pittston, PA.  He is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins.

His Funeral will be held from the Kirby-Rapino Memorial Home, 917 Bennington Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston on Thursday, July 14 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church on the corner of Brooks and Paris Streets at 10 a.m.  Family will be accepting visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday.  Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street Framingham MA 01701.

Susan Lashus

Of Saugus, formerly of East Boston

Susan M. (Merchant) Lashus of Saugus, formerly of East Boston, died on July 9.

She was the loving mother of Amy Lashus of Saugus; daughter of the late Harold C. and Eileen M. (Costigan) Merchant; dear sister of Dennis Merchant of Revere, Kathleen Thibeault of Scituate, Diane O’Connor of Malden and the late Linda Wickwire. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

Richard Reinold

Winthrop resident

Richard J. Reinold of Winthrop died suddenly on July 7.

A US Air Force veteran, he was the beloved husband for 39 years to Margaret R. (Fontana) Reinold, the loving father of Lance R. Reinold and his wife, Alison of Lynnfield and Michael M. Reinold and his wife, Sandra of Belmont; devoted son of the late Richard and Agnes (Cashman) Reinold; dear brother of Patricia Swartout of Florida, Jeff Reinold of Maine, Sharon Buller of California, Tim Reinold of Boston and the late Judy Poe; devoted grandfather of Matthew, Joshua and Avery Reinold.

Roseann Battaglia

Of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston

Roseann “Angie” Battaglia of Pond Street, Winthrop died on July 7 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice in Haverhill after a long illness. She was 90 years old.

Born in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Theodora (Todisco) and Raymond Terilli. She lived in East Boston before moving to Winthrop more than 24 years ago.

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Battaglia and the loving mother of Theodora Ciampa and her husband, William of Haverhill and Ross Battaglia and his wife, Elizabeth of Kailua, HI; dear sister of Stella Masiello of Revere, Albert Terilli of Medford and the late Frances Fernades, Mary Loguidice, John Terilli and Joseph Terilli. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Lynnfield resident

Brian McGah of Lynnfield, formerly of Winthrop, died by accident on July 5.

He was the beloved husband of Leanna (Kelly) McGah with whom he shared 25 years of marriage and the loving father of Kyle McGah.

Orient Heights resident

John J. “Johnny Bartolo” Interbartolo of Orient Heights East Boston died on July 5.

A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Roach) Interbartolo with whom he shared 39 years of marriage; loving father of Karen De Filippo and her long time companion, Michael DeSimone and John J. Interbartolo and his long time companion, Corinne Cavolich, all of East Boston; dear brother of the late Margaret Langone, Florence Belgiorno, Ross, Charlie, Joe “Dot” Sal Bartolo, Michael, Tony and his twin brother, Pat; cherished grandfather of Adam DeFilippo, Kim Draskovics and her husband, Frank, Jacquelline Interbartolo, Koren Brodin and John Bartolo and great grandfather of six. He was also the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Donna Chapman

Former US Postal Clerk

Donna L. (Cutulle) Chapman of Revere died on June 22 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

She worked for many years as a Clerk for the US Postal Service in Revere, Chelsea and East Boston. She was 65 years old.

Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Lucy (Oreto) Cutulle, she was the beloved wife of Richard, the devoted mother of Brian “RPD” and his Fiancé, Nancy Nicosia; dear sister of the late Rose Chandler, Joseph Cutulle and Nicholas Cutulle and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral was held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, Revere. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1905.

Judith Menz

Longtime Home Health Care Aide

Judith A. (McDonough) Menz, formerly of Winthrop and East Boston, died at Penacook Place in Haverhill on July 4. She was 69 years old.

A loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend, she was a longtime home health care aide.

She was the beloved wife of the late George Menz Jr. Surviving family members include three sons, Timothy Menz of Dracut, John Menz and his wife, Cheryl of Somersworth, NH. and Christopher Menz and his wife, Paula of Gonic, NH.; two daughters, Pattianne Caponigro and her late husband, Richard of Amesbury and Paula Carey and her husband, Steven of Plymouth, MA.; one brother, Walter McDonough of East Boston and two sisters, Jayne McCarthy of Nahant, and Anne Bowen of Amesbury. She was the grandmother of Danashia Morall, Nicholas, Alexander, and Gregory Caponigro, Victoria and Matthew Menz, Jennifer Baker, and Virginia and Joseph Carey.
