Three weeks into the season and things are certainly heating up in the EBMHL. Rivalrys have emerged and the competition has become quite fierce.
In game 1, Bill Ashes took on the East Boston Yacht Club. Anchored by many key saves from goaltender Chris Grossmann, the EBYC prevailed 11-6. Once again the EBYC attack was led by Charlie Daniels who buried 6 goals and 2 assists. Chris Sullivan pitched in with 4 goals and 2 assists of his own while Chris Piatelli scored the loner for the EBYC. Bill Ashes was led by Gerard Cioffi who had 2 goals and 1 assist while David Chiaradonna had 2 tallies while Michael O’Brien and Sebastian Yano had the single tallies.
Game 2 was an outstanding game, which turned out to be the game of the night at Porazzo Rink. We saw The Comets take on Yellow Taxi in a battle straight to the finish. 2 teams that will certainly do battle throughout this long season that is only just getting started. Yellow Taxi, led by Jim Leger who lit the lamp 3 times and added 1 assist, prevailed with an 8-7 victory. Steve Munzione and Michael Preston pitched in with 2 goals a piece. The Comets, who had a very balanced attack, were led by Brian Hayes and Mike Marcinkowski who netted 2 a piece.
In Game 3 the 113 Club continued to assault the EBMHL with a very convincing 6-3 win over Sound Decision. Goalie Tony Dandrea was outstanding making many key stops to bolster the 113 clubs attack. The offense was provided by the defense this evening with Matt Morissey scoring 2 goals and 1 assist. Marc Lanzilli added 2 goals and 1 assist, while Mike Burri added a goal and 2 assists. Peter Hanlon provided the lone tally for the 113 Club. Sound Decision goaltender Nick Rossi was on top of his game in what was a losing effort. SD scoring was provided by David Couldren, Jay Duca, and Larry McGahey.
