The retirement of District 7 Captain Robert Cunningham and Sergeants Arthur McCarthy and Jack O’Connell is a proper and fitting end to long and distinguished careers in law enforcement in this neighborhood.
However, their retirement is a terrific loss for this neighborhood as they were good, and honest men who treated people fairly and who did their jobs with pride and with a strong sense of right and wrong.
Their presence and judgment will be sorely missed in the District 7 police station.
We wish them the best in retirement.
Good health to Captain Cunningham and to Sergeants McCarthy and O’Connell.
