Joseph Pimentel

Of New Hampshire, formerly of Saugus

Joseph Pimentel of Sandown, New Hampshire, formerly of Saugus, died on January 11.

A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was a past member of the Saugus Elks and a past employee of the Town of Saugus.

He was the beloved husband of more than 58 Years of Marie (Mastone) Pimentel; devoted father of John and Joseph, both of Florida, Lynda Pimentel of Salisbury and Maureen Pimentel of Sandown NH; dear brother of James Pimentel of Sandown NH and the late Dotty Agave; cherished grandfather of Joey and Michael of Florida and adored great grandfather of Alex and Ally of Newton. He is also survived by many fond nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held from the Ruggiero Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St. (Orient Heights) East Boston on Friday, January 15 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating his life in Sacred Heart Church, Brooks Street, East Boston at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with Mr. Pimentel being laid to rest with his military family in the National Cemetery in Bourne. Domennica Noe, 96

East Boston resident

Domenica Noe of East Boston died peacefully in her sleep on January 6. She was 96 years old.

Her wishes were to have private services. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived her life as a hard working, intelligent, honest and religious woman who God has taken home. Our hearts are broken and your prayers at this time are greatly appreciated.

 

Lorraine LaBone

East Boston resident

Lorraine I. (Gibbons) La Bone of East Boston died on January 4.

She was the beloved wife of the late Russell LaBone; loving mother of Virginia LaPia, David LaBone and Geraldine Maguire, all of East Boston, Ann Marie LaBone of Chelsea and Russell LaBone of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; cherished daughter of Virginia Gibbons; dear sister of Frances Antrim, Doanna Harland, Joseph "Buddy" Gibbons, Mary Rizzo and Daniel Gibbons; cherished grandmother 16, great grandmother of 13 and aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Of Malden, formerly of East Boston

James F. Urban of Malden, formerly of East Boston, died on January 8.

A former employee of Stride Rite Shoes of Boston, he was the beloved husband of Claudine A. (Wentziger) Urban; devoted father of Philip A. Urban of Malden and Christopher F. Urban and his wife, Florence, of Lynn; loving brother of the late Lisa Sherson formerly of Ware; brother-in-law of Frances Mannix of Watertown and Yvette Bressler and her husband, Sidney, of Maitland, FL.; cherished grandfather of Shelby L. Urban of Lynn and numerous other relatives.

John Fidalgo

Of Lynn, formerly of East Boston

John M. Fidalgo of Lynn, formerly of East Boston, died on January 6.

He was the son of the late John and Regina (Rodrigues) Fidalgo; dear brother of Richard Fidalgo of Lynn, Florence Wofford and Rose Broadbear of California and the late Virginia Knuttila. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Rapino Memorial Home, 9 Chelsea St. (Maverick Sq.) East Boston, today, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. The family will receive visitors today from 9 to 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Boston. George W. Costa of Malden, formerly of Chelsea, died on January 6.

A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he was the beloved husband of Joanne Palmer of Malden.; devoted father of Lorena Rasmussen of Chicago, Illinois, Edna Anne Palmer and her husband, Richard, of Florida, Andrew Palmer of East Boston, Earlene Palmer and Amy Palmer, both of Malden; dear brother of Francis Costa of Revere; cherished grandfather of Nicholas and Leonard and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

William J. Forster Jr. of Nashua, NH, formerly of East Boston, died on January 7.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude M. (Doucette); father of William J. Forster III and his wife, Paula, of Revere and Kathleen L. Drift of Nashua, NH; brother of Ruth Hannigan, Jean Nicholson, Mary, Edward, Raymond, Joseph and the late James Forster and Rita Kamholz; grandfather of Brenda Forster-Wojick, Stephen Forster, Joseph and Kathleen Drift, great-grandfather of Alyssa, Tayla and Marc Ginnetti. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Joseph Nealon Sr.

Of North Weymouth, formerly of East Boston

Joseph B. Nealon Sr. of North Weymouth, formerly of East Boston and Hull, died on January 7 at the South Shore Hospital. He was 86 years old.

The beloved husband of the late Frances (Carney) Nealon, he was the loving father of Joseph B. Nealon Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Abington, Elaine Sheehan of Virginia, Joanne O’Connor and her husband, Neal, of So. Weymouth, Laurie Kilday and her husband, Bob, of Virginia and the late Kathy Lindstrom; father in law of Richard Lindstrom of Florida; devoted grandfather of six and great grandfather of six; brother of Edward Nealon of Medford and the late Margaret Cox and John Nealon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Louis F. "Junie" Corrado of South Boston, formerly of East Boston, died on January 5.

He was the son of the late Louis and Ana (Fenton) Corrado; loving brother of the late Gerard Corrado, Sr.; loving brother-in-law of Connie Corrado of South Boston; cherished uncle of Richie and Kristine Corrado of South Boston and Jerry and Christine Corrado of Wakefield; great uncle of Richard and Kailyn Carrado of South Boston; dear friend of Frankie and Peggy Doyle of South Boston.

Robert M. Woodard of Wakefield died in Stoneham on January 5. He was 89 years old.

Marcelino Sardina

Retired Boston Police Officer, Little League Coach, founder of East Boston T-Ball League

Marcelino Sardina of East Boston died on January 5. He was 82 years old.

A US Army veteran and a Boston Police Officer for more than 32 years, he was the founder of the East Boston T-ball league and was also involved in coaching East Boston Little League for more than 30 years.

He was the beloved husband of Geraldine (Kelly) with whom he shared 55 years of marriage; loving father of Karen Batchelder and her husband, Stephen, and Mark Sardina, all of Saugus, Barbara Salsberry and her husband, Steve, of Lynn, Deborah Grimaldi and her husband, Cody, of New Hampshire and James Sardina and his wife, Tracy, of Charlestown; cherished son of the late Marcelino and Assumcion (Calzada) Sardina; adored grandfather of Shawn, Steve, Jeremy, Marc, Cody, Justin, Evan, Ethan and great grandfather of Zeta.

Florence Caggiano

Of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston

Florence Caggiano of Overlook Drive, Winthrop, died at the Don Orione Nursing Home, East Boston on January 4 after a brief illness. She was 99 years old.

Born in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Grace (D’Ambrosio) and Joseph Caggiano. A resident of East Boston for many years, she moved to Winthrop more than 10 years ago. She worked as a candy maker for many years and after her retirement took to traveling around the world.

She was the devoted sister to Arthur, Joseph, Ernest P., Michael S., Armando "Ed" Caggiano and Lena Burke. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

John Guerra of Danvers, formerly of Peabody and East Boston, died on January 3.

He was the father of Dean Bellville of Northborough; cherished son of the late Anthony "Tony" and Jennie (Giambartolmei) Guerra Giannone; dear brother of Vincent Guerra and Grace Guerra and her husband, James, of Peabody, Donna Giannone-Bonnno and her husband, James, of Gloucester and the late Anthony Giannone.

Thomas Barrasso

Kind Man with Warm Sense of Humor

Thomas A. Barrasso of East Boston died at home of kidney failure on January 3. He was 66 years old.

Mr. Barrasso will be remembered as a kind man with a warm sense of humor. His friends were extremely important to him and he loved to see people happy and laughing. His family will remember his love for vintage cars, boats and fishing. After earning a living in the furniture moving business, he was also proud of his work in the car towing industry. He is loved and will forever maintain a spot in the hearts of those who loved him most.

He will be dearly missed by his longtime companion, Laura Poirier; his devoted brother, Richard Barrasso, and his wife, Bonnie, of Peabody; his nephews, Jeremy and Justin Barrasso, who always enjoyed his humor and laughter; his beloved aunt Angela McKenna and his nine cousins Billy, Bobby, and Jerry McKenna, Geraldine Cull, Charles and James Marciano, Mary Grace Festa and Pam and Denise Marciano.
